"I was encouraged to write at a very young age. We were learning about poems and rhyming and were required to write a poem as part of an assignment. Mine was selected to be in the Monte Vista Creative Writing Booklet. Then when I was 10, my dad showed another one of my poems to a family friend, Barrett Price, and he told me 'Wow Myria. This is exceptional for a girl your age. I just want to tell you keep writing. Always keep writing and never stop.' The rest is history..."
